What is the Main Competition

Main Competition of CinemadaMare is the official International competition of short movies.

How to participate to Main Competition:

  • Send a short film in DVD within the 15th of May, 2013, at this address: CinemadaMare, Via Trionfale 156, 00136 Rome,
  • The maximum length of short film is 25 minutes.

For this competition, about five short movies will be screened each evening in the main square of the city where CinemadaMare stays. Voting papers are distributed to the audience attending the screening in the main square, in order to vote the best short film every evening.

The selected short films will enter the Semi-Final, which will take place last week, and the Finals which will take place last day of the Festival.

The winner will be chosen by a Public Jury and will therefore win the prize Epeo d’Oro.

 

What is the Weekly Competition

During "CinemadaMare" there is the "Shot on the spot" section, where all the young filmmakers, coming from all over the world, make short films in order to participate to the Weekly Competition.

As the name itself makes clear, these competitions take place every week and they are the most important feature of CinemadaMare Film Festival activities.
In order to apply to this competition a short film must:.

  • be realized by the CinemadaMare’s participants.
  • have a maximum length of 10 minutes.

Weekly Competitions take place last day of each week of CinemadaMare. At the beginning of each stop, the festival staff will hang notices for the participants and the audience with information regarding the date of Weekly Competition and the production of the film.  

About  Weekly Competition:

  • the festival director is the only judge of the Weekly Competition; he is the only one who will select the winner;
  • weekly prizes will be assigned during the final ceremony of the Weekly Competition;
  • the prize can be assigned ex-equo (for prize description see Art.4.2)
